We’ll ask you to share a few photos of your property. We pass these on to our illustrator. The illustrator begins creating an original house portrait. This portrait will form a beautiful centerpiece to your finished history.

Helping us Navigate the Archives

Alongside this, we request certain details from you to help guide our path through the archives. If a visit to a local record office has been advised, we’ll update you with appointment dates. We will also inform you of document requests.

Research, Record Offices, and Document Orders

Every house has a paper trail, and part of uncovering your home’s past means following it through the archives. Once your house history is underway, we may need to visit local record offices. We will access maps, deeds, and rate books. Other unique documents might not be available online. We will have discussed this with you before you bought your commission.

We’ll keep you fully updated with dates and appointments where visits are required. This ensures you always know what stage we’re at. We also manage the ordering of any additional documents on your behalf, ensuring nothing is missed in the process.

This careful, hands-on approach allows us to bring together every available piece of evidence. We use official records and other accounts. This helps us create a detailed and reliable picture of your property’s past.

From Research to Finished Folio

Once our in-depth investigation is complete, everything is handed to our design team for graphics and formatting. Finally, your bespoke house history is printed on elegant loose-leaf pages. It is presented in a special box. It is ready to be delivered to you.
